On June 13, 2018, Thaksin University collected and delivered various types of hazardous waste from campus laboratories to the Phatthalung Province Administrative Organization in order to dispose of the hazardous waste properly. These efforts were part of the "Hazardous Waste Disposal from Phatthalung Community” project that focuses on awareness and knowledge of how to reduce hazardous waste in the community. The purpose of this project is to collect and receive hazardous waste from both the public and private sectors and to dispose of this waste properly. The project participants include Thaksin University in collaboration with the Phatthalung Province Administrative Organization and the Offices for Natural Resources and Environment. In addition, some of the laboratory hazardous waste came from the "Upgrade the Laboratory Safety Standards in Thailand" project that the Faculty of Science at Thaksin University participated in.
